Erebus, Wales’ pioneering floating wind project secures marine licence
RenewableUK Cymru has welcomed the news that Blue Gem Wind has been granted a marine licence for its Erebus project, just off the Pembrokeshire coastline.
Blue Gem Wind is a joint venture between TotalEnergies, one of the world’s largest energy companies and Simply Blue Group. Erebus is Wales’ first planned floating windfarm and is located approximately 40km off the Pembrokeshire coastline. Its floating wind turbines will provide enough low carbon energy to power 93,000 homes, contributing to net zero targets and energy security.
