RenewableUK Cymru has appointed a new Director and Assistant Director.

Jessica Hooper is the new Director and Manon Kynaston takes up the role of Assistant Director.  The women join RenewableUK Cymru from Marine Energy Wales.  This means there is now an all female team at RenewableUK Cymru, with Sara Powell-Davies as Communications Manager.

Jessica’s previous position at Marine Energy Wales was as Programme Manager.  At RenewableUK Cymru, she will be responsible for leading on strategy and political engagement.

Prior to joining RenewableUK Cymru, Manon was Project Manager at Marine Energy Wales.  In her new role as Assistant Director, she will be covering policy, advocacy and liaison with Welsh Government.

Talking about her appointment, Jessica said:

“It is an exciting time for renewable energy in Wales, and I am relishing the prospect of a new challenge and looking forward to working with the RenewableUK members both in Wales and beyond.”

Both Jessica and Manon join RenewableUK Cymru straight from maternity leave.  Jessica welcomed this approach, saying:

“In a male dominated industry desperately in need of a more balanced workforce, RenewableUK have been approachable, understanding and supportive, making sure the opportunity is manageable and demonstrating a genuine commitment to accommodating not one, but two new mums returning to work.”
