With a closing date of Friday 3 July, time is running out to enter the 2015 Wales Green Energy Awards.  The awards, organised by RenewableUK Cymru, celebrate the achievements of the green energy industry in Wales.  The Awards are open to both individuals and organisations.  Winners will be announced in an awards ceremony on Friday 5 November in St David’s Hotel in Cardiff.

Dr David Clubb, director of RenewableUK Cymru, said: “In the face of some severe economic headwinds, and not a little political oppugnancy from certain political parties, the green energy sector remains one of the very few growth areas for the UK.

“Wales has a long way to go until it fulfils its potential, but we are increasingly seeing innovation, good practice and strong collaboration in Wales.  We await what will undoubtedly be a strong set of nominations for this years’ awards.”

The eight categories in the Wales Green Energy Awards are:

  • Engaging the Community sponsored by The Waterloo Foundation
  • Supply Chain Development sponsored by Vattenfall
  • Outstanding Renewable Energy Project sponsored by Welsh Government
  • Contribution to Skills & Training sponsored by The Crown Estate
