RenewableUK Cymru has welcomed the announcement of a proposed package of new powers for the Welsh Government and National Assembly for Wales. The Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister have announced consenting for energy projects below 350MW capacity will be handed to the Welsh Ministers, alongside consenting arrangements for associated development.
David Clubb, Director of RenewableUK Cymru has said “We welcome this announcement on the devolution settlement for Wales, as it makes the lines of responsibility for Wales’ energy infrastructure clearer and should increase accountability and transparency. We will now be able to lobby more directly on behalf of our members in Wales and look forward to working with our colleagues in Welsh Government and the National Assembly for Wales to ensure our industry can deliver long term jobs and investment for Wales.”
