The University of South Wales, the largest university in Wales, has become the latest member of RenewableUK Cymru, the trade body for renewable energy, and smart energy and storage.

USW traces its roots back to the Newport Mechanics Institute in 1841, and has some exceptional areas of study in the energy sector such as anaerobic digestion, the renewable energy supply chain, the hydrogen economy, and increasingly in energy storage.

David Clubb, Director of RenewableUK Cymru, welcomed the new member:

“The University of South Wales has a great reputation in some of the most important energy-related sectors and  will bring a wealth of experience to our membership. We very much look forward to supporting the academic and industrial interests of the University, and to bringing this academic expertise to the benefit of our existing members, as well as to other public and private sector stakeholders”
