RenewableUK Cymru’s Matthew Williams gave evidence to the National Assembly for Wales Environment and Sustainability Committee inquiry into the General Principles of the Planning (Wales) Bill last Thursday. The committee is currently assessing the general impact of the Bill following on from consultations by the Government earlier this year and the introduction of the Bill in the early Autumn. Further sessions will take place in the New Year and RenewableUK Cymru will be an active participant in scrutiny of the Bill as it passes each legislative stage. Video of the session is available here and a full transcript will be available shortly.

RenewableUK Cymru has welcomed the general principles of the Planning (Wales) Bill and believes that the provisions in the Bill will go someway to enhancing developer confidence in Wales, however we have also expressed concerns that some elements of the Bill have not been clearly defined and require further detail and clarification.
