RenewableUK Cymru has welcomed today’s announcement from DECC to grant planning consent to RWE Innogy UK Ltd for its Clocaenog Forest Wind Farm.

Commenting on the decision, David Clubb, Director of RenewableUK Cymru, said:

“Clocaenog Forest has the potential to support over 200 jobs and unlock around £40 million in supply chain opportunities for Welsh businesses during its construction. This is on top of the Community Benefit Fund of up to £768,000 and the green energy generated for years to come. This project is yet another example of the benefits which onshore wind can bring to the Welsh economy.”
