The Welsh Government has published its response to the UK Government’s response (keep up!) to Part 2 of the Silk Commission.

Energy is one of the key themes in the document, and Carwyn Jones states that the Welsh Government wants to secure energy consenting powers beyond those recommended by the Silk Commission (i.e. for all technologies and sizes except for nuclear).

The negative public pronouncements on renewable energy by Conservative Ministers in the UK Government have led many in the industry to think more favourably about the relative merits of Wales-based consenting, although there is not yet consensus on the matter.
