Good news from Cynnal Cymru:
The Robert Owen Community Banking Fund (ROCBF) has recently been awarded £1 million from the BIG Lottery in Wales.
ROCBF’s Community Energy Development Fund will be aimed at unlocking new renewable energy schemes across Wales by providing innovative financial investment during higher risk phases of their development.
These funds will complement other sources of funding for the sector. ROCBF will also be working closely with a wide range of community groups to help build financial capability and move them along more quickly to becoming investment ready schemes.
ROCBF is working in partnership with Community Energy Wales and with other leading stakeholders in the growing community renewables sector to roll out the fund from March 2014.
