A story is running today on the BBC Wales news web site about how there are fears that Wales could lose out on jobs and investment from offshore wind because ports are not well equipped enough.

RenewableUK Cymru called on Welsh Government at the beginning of its sixth term last year to make sure that adequate resources were directed to supporting Welsh ports so they could bid for the infrastructure adaptation funding required to make the necessary upgrades.  You can read more about that here.

It is vital that investment is made to enable Welsh ports to play their part fully in the journey to a net zero Wales and we will be working with our members to identify the supply chain opportunities, barriers and skills development that is needed to make this happen.

This subject will be discussed in more detail at Future Energy Wales on 9 – 10 November in ICC Wales, Newport.  Tickets go on sale soon.
