RenewableUK Cymru has published its response to the Welsh Government consultation on the National Development Framework 2020-2040.

Commenting on the consultation response, Rhys Wyn Jones, Head of RenewableUK Cymru said,

“The NDF has much to commend it in terms of its intent to encourage development of renewable energy, however it is not supported by proposed priority areas for renewable energy development which are for the most part not suitable for DNS level onshore wind.

The adoption of a criteria based approach to renewable energy development would, we believe, provide a far better opportunity for Wales to realise its renewable energy ambition.  We look forward to continuing to support and engage with Welsh Government as the NDF progresses.”
