RenewableUK Cymru is delighted to announce that innogy Cymru, Wales’ biggest investor into renewable energy projects, will be sponsoring the Local Energy Markets session at Smart Energy Wales on 4 July.

innogy has a track record of forging long-standing relationships with communities across Wales.  It does this through providing employment on projects as well as through community investment funds associated with a range of projects: from Gwynt y Môr Offshore Wind Farm in the north to the Brechfa Forest West Onshore Wind Farm in the south.

The Chair of the session will be innogy’s Jeremy Smith, who is also a member of the Smart Energy Systems group and is highly engaged with issues around how people and households interact with the energy system.

Speaking about innogy’s sponsorship, Rhys Jones, Head of RenewableUK Cymru said:“innogy’s track record of investment in sustainable energy projects in Wales is unparalleled. They are a major developer of Wales’ low carbon infrastructure, and we are delighted that they are associating themselves with Smart Energy Wales.”

Jeremy Smith of innogy said, “There is an urgent need to move towards a low carbon future.  I am proud that innogy is at the forefront of this transition, generating a third of all Wales’ renewable energy.”
