We are delighted to announce that Formpave, a company specialising in sustainable paving solutions and now innovating in ground-source heating, has become our latest member.

Established in 1989, and now a part of Forterra Building Products, Formpave has a wide selection of permeable paving products which are helping public and private-sector developments across Wales with their water management in the built environment.

Climate change models show that Wales will have more rainfall, falling in more intense bursts – particularly in Winter – making flooding events more likely. This emphasises the need for planning systems and building regulations to facilitate the sustainable removal of surface water, and the effective management of groundwater.

More intense and frequent winter rain will require good planning and good products

Formpave’s innovation in drainage has extended to the heating sector, and their newest product line, Thermapave, integrates groundsource heating with drainage. Innovations like this place Formpave squarely at the front of companies operating in the sector.

The lines between sustainable energy and the built environment are becoming increasingly blurred

Commenting on the new member, David Clubb said:

“We are very excited to be working with such an innovative company, and particularly one which, like us, is seeing beyond the bounds of traditional sectors and reaching across different areas of infrastructure.

“Formpave is already making impressive partnerships across the public and private sector in Wales, and we’re pleased to be able to help them cement their position as leaders in product design and deployment.”
