The General Election has produced a clear victory for the Conservatives, and as the new – or existing – Ministers prepare for their portfolios, they have an opportunity to galvanise the green energy sector, in order to safeguard and increase the tens of thousands of jobs in the sector.

RenewableUK has asked for a 2030 decarbonisation target to provide long term certainty for investors.

Speaking about the result, David Clubb, Director of RenewableUK Cymru said:

“We are optimistic that the UK Government will continue to see the huge benefits to be obtained from supporting the renewable energy sector, and that they will work with the industry to set a long-term framework which will attract investment for the decades to come.”
