One of Wales’ most established and well-known campaigning energy agencies, Awel Aman Tawe, has become the latest member of RenewableUK Cymru.

Perhaps most famous for the long-standing attempt to develop a community-owned windfarm, Awel Aman Tawe has also been instrumental in engaging local communities in climate change, through a programme of arts and poetry.

Dan McCallum, the Manager of Awel Aman Tawe, was the worthy winner of the Outstanding Advocate award at the 2014 Wales Green Energy Awards.

Commenting on the new member, David Clubb said:

“I’ve known Dan for nearly ten years, and he has been a tireless and outstanding campaigner for renewable energy and climate change awareness. Awel Aman Tawe deserves widespread recognition for the difference it has made to the local community, and for the example it provides in community leadership at the UK level.”
